I Tried Spotify Audiobooks

Yes, I said that. Spotify has audiobooks! Before you go running over there and start to look them up, let me tell you that it is an adventure! I was thinking one day about how cool it would be if Spotify would have some audiobooks, and what it would look like. So being the curious reader I am, I looked up some books, but of course, only user created playlist came up. I don’t give up quickly, so I googled it, and guys finding the audiobooks is actually a little hard.

You would think that the books would be under podcasts so it would be easier to split up, but no, it’s under music and artist! So here is the easiest way I have found so far to find the audiobooks. To search and type audiobooks and go to all playlist. A TON of playlist will come up, some are the one book, and some are a mix of a few different books.

What I have found is the playlist will have one part of the book in the playlist, and then you have to press view entire album, so see the whole book. It’s a bit of a process, but hopefully, it will grow. Now the big question: What kind of books do they have on there?

There isn’t a large assortment of books on there. Most of the books I have found on there are classics, BUT The Raven Cycle Series is on there as well as The Hunger Games! The set up for it sucks, and each it’s divided into 3 minute segments, but it does not interrupt the reading experience! Sadly, there isn’t a lot of newer books, but there is a TON of classics on there!

If you want to give audiobooks a try, I would highly recommend checking out using Spotify!

4 Upcoming Books in 2020

I have received these books to read for free in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
  1. Children Against Hitler by Monica Porter

I was a history major in college, so I know this isn’t everybody’s type of book, but I do suggest reading it! The stories of the children come alive on the page, and you’ll never guess all the things that happen to them! These unsung heroes of Nazi Germany deserve all the praise and honor! Monica Porter beautifully shows what happened from a younger generation’s point of view. I would highly recommend that you check this book out and experience a world that we could never imagine living in!

2. More Than Maybe by Erin Hahn

This is such a cute book! I love this so much! Vada and Luke are the cutest, and I need more of them! This book is a beautiful story about these two teens who want to follow their dreams but also find love. This book felt a little like Fangirl and Radio Silence but so different! Erin Hahn did a fantastic job with this book! I love getting two POVs and getting so many details. The complexity of the characters really made me want to continue reading, as well. If you want an easy, cute, fun book to be ready, I would suggest this book!

Rating 4 Stars Release Date May 12, 202

3. Unafraid by Donna K. Maltese

This devotional is so cute! It is filled with a ton of really great reminder of God’s love for us! The pages are so adorable! I highly recommend this book if you are the kind of person that needs these reminders of God’s love and that he will always have our back! While I did really love this book, I felt like some of the passages were kind of blanket statements, and others felt like it was a little bit of a stretch.

Rating 3 Stars Release Date May 1, 2020

4. Saints and Scoundrels in the Story of Jesus by Nancy Guthrie

This is an excellent study of people in the bible. I loved reading about people in seeing that I am not the only person struggling. I loved seeing God work all over scripture and in the lives of these people. This is an excellent devotional for everyone, especially when you feel like your not good enough. I love this book and will, for sure, reread the book!

Ember Queen: I'm Obsessed

*Possible Spoilers*

Holy flapjack! This book is so good! I loved this series before, but this book takes the cake! I was worried that this series would be too much like the Red Queen, but it became its own story, and I couldn’t be happier! I laughed, I cried, I curdled up in a ball and rocked back and forth. Yes, it is a lot like every other book out there, but it’s so dang good!

I was nervous when I pre-ordered that I wouldn’t like it, but it was so worth it! I love the characters and the story and well everything! Like I said in the Ash Princess review if you love Red Queen, you will love this! They are very similar but different enough that it’s not like rereading the same book.

The characters in these books are amazing! I love the friendship between Theo and Cress, and the falling out. Throughout the series, their story gets more and more complicated and harder to fix. I also love Blaise and his story. He started off a little rough around the edges, but in the end, he was the hero we needed. I loved the character growth that each character has and their relationship with each other! Plus, let’s be honest. Søren is amazing, and I need more stories with him in it.

Have you guys read this series yet? Let me know what you think!

The Forgotten book

Not only do I forgot that I own this book, but I forget that I have read this book! All The Missing Girls by Megan Miranda is a book that slips my mind when thinking about books that I have read. The book was told backward and had flashbacks, and it was honestly a little bit of a bore to me. I have a hard time remembering any of the little details or who did it at the end.

I’m not much a mystery book person, but this sounded really good and it was October when I read it so i thought it was the perfect time to read it. The beginning of the book was pretty decent, it quickly went downhill. I lost interest pretty quickly. I feel like the book was kinda repetitive and there was so many flashbacks it got a little confusing. I feel like this book would of been more memorable if it was structured in another way.

When I say it’s a forgotten book, I mean I really can’t remember it. I find it on my shelf and I have to think on whether or not i have read it or not. I almost DNf it so many times but I wanted to know how it was going to end!

Fangirl is beyond Relatable

This book! Woooowww! I won’t lie it was kinda slow for me when I got started, but I fell completely in love with this book! If you’ve read my review on Radio Silence You know how much I love that book, and I love this book maybe just a little bit more!

Like in Radio Silence, we follow a queen fangirl. Cath loves Simon Snow and is well known in the fandom for her fan-fiction writing. Unlike in Radio Silence, she is not asked to anything for the creator. We see her deal with reading and writing her fan-fiction wile starting college, trying to have a social life, get good grades, dealing with with anxiety, spending time with family, and keep up with a love life. Anyone knows that college is a struggle to begin with so she it is amazing that she is even trying to keep up with everything. is it the best representation of fandoms? No, but its fun and quirky!

We also have Cath’s win Wren who a a college freshman trying to live life to the fullest. She is often drunk and has been trying to move past her fangirl life and grow in a new group of friends. She wants to become her own person and her relationship with her sister starts t suffer. One of my favorite characters in this book is Levi. I love Levi, he is a dream boat. If you know anyone like him, send him my way. He is a beautiful character and I need a whole book about him! Probably one of the best male characters I’ve read in a while…sorry Maxon and Scoren!

Guys, go and pick up this book! You won’t regret it! If you do for some reason you can blame me.

The TBR Book Tag- I need to read more

I love book tags, so here we are again with another one! I saw this one Stephen Write Blogs, so I thought I’d give it a whirl.

  1. How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I actually have a book crate that I out all of my TBRs in and I don’t put them on my shelf until they are read! I also use goodreads for all of books I don’t known but want to read.

2. Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?

Print for sure! I have the Kindle app on my phone but I’m not the biggest fan of it. I am thinking about giving it another try on a a tablet or buying a kindle but I’m not sure yet. Let me know what you think down in the comments!

3. How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

It goes a little like this: 1. Is it a series? What is the next book? 2. How much hype is around the book? 3. Did I get it from Owlcrate? (I try to keep up with those books). If this fails I put my top picks in a pile and ask my family which one they choose and the one with the most votes wins.

4. A book that’s been on your TBR the longest.

Shatter Me, Gracling, and Matched. I believed that I bought them at the same time and I just haven’t picked them up yet.

5. A book that you recently added to your TBR.

I feel like I’m always adding new books to my pile. Queen of Nothing is probably the newst book on my TBR , but it should get read pretty quickly since I’m doing Holly Black January.

6. A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover

I don’t think I have one. I have bought books because of their covers but I tend to read them pretty quickly.

7. A book on your TBR that you NEVER plan on actually reading

The Wizard of OZ. I LOVE this whole story and movie and I own three versions of this book. Will I ever read it? Who knows.

8. An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for

I have three. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Ember Queen, and Unravel the Dusk!

9. A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read except you

oh gosh, there’s a few. The Kane Chronicles and Shatter Me are just two of them.

10. A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you

Shatter Me. I know I know, I need to read this.

11. A book on your TBR that you’re just dying to read

I’m in a little bit of a book slump tight now so I’m not dying to read anything at the moment.

12. The number of books on your Goodreads TBR shelf

I didn’t even want to look. I have a serve problem with just adding books on there is they look remotely good. 236, but It’s actually like 150 probably because there’s a lot of books from the kindle app that I downloaded for my papers for college that aren’t marked as read on there.

This was so much fun and I really had to look at the TBR pile and maybe re-evaluate how many books I buy and how I read them! Everyone should do this with me!

Radio Silence was anything but

Radio Silence by Alice Oseman is gold! I feel like I shouldn’t even say anything about it, and make you read it and see for yourself! I will always recommend this book, and I will reread it a lot. It’s so relatable, and it’s every fangirl/fanboy dream! If you liked Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, you would love this book!

This book follows Frances, who is queen fangirl for Universe City. She is so well known in the fandom that the creator reached out to her to be an artist for him! Like what?!?! Could you ever imagine that? Like I would die! I love love the fact that is book doesn’t have to big of a love story. The book is based around the friendships that it’s so refreshing! I love this book more than I can put into words! I feel like there are quite a bit of things that happen, and I don’t want to spoil it! There’s fandom, secrets, sneaking around, friendship,

My review for Fangirl will be up soon, but these books have a lot of similar qualities, so I highly suggest that if you like one, to read the other as well! These books tackle what it’s like, so be so in the fandom you don’t want to be anywhere else. It’s so relatable and fun! I think it’s the first book I read that was based around YouTube! Like you need to read it, it’s incredible, and I don’t have the words for it!
