Why I Started Blogging and Why I Love It |Blogmas Day 6

Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me. Every time I write, I feel like I am improving. This has been such a fun adventure, and I am so happy I get to continue it with all of you! Thank you for listening to my thoughts on the adventures I go on.

I started this book blog because I needed to talk about the books I read. All of my friends and family would pretend to listen to me or be interested in the books, so I never really could talk about what was happening. I also was made fun of for being so into my books, but here I can get my feelings out without to much trouble. Blogging is also a helpful way for me to sort out how I feel about the books and the characters. Sometimes when I am reading, I get so caught up in the world that I am not taking in everything that is being set up. When I go to write about it, I can finally see all the things I didn’t put together!

I didn’t start the blog for this reason, but I love looking back on the blogs. I can look back at what I have read and remember what happened in the books, which is super helpful when I’m waiting for the next book in the series to come. I also like to look at my reactions to books, and then how I think of the book now. I like to see how much I loved a book when I read it. The feeling of finishing a book is so exciting and sad at the same time, and I’m happy I am able to document that.

The bookish community is so wonderful. I’m so happy I have entered into a community where we can share thoughts and opinions! The bookish people are some of the most welcoming people I have ever met! Thank you for letting me be me.

Let’s Talk About the New Hunger Games Book

I’ve been waiting for this. The Hunger Games is like my Harry Potter (I am pretty obsessed with Harry Potter, though). When I heard rumors of this book, I was really hoping for Haymitch’s story. Like for real, how awesome would that be?! Sadly Susan Collins decided to give us the story of the first District 12 winner. I really think this book will be interesting, we are going to see what Panem looked like after the civil war. Maybe we can get to know some relatives of our favorite people? It’s Titled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, what does that mean? What kind of story are we going to be getting ourselves into?

Let’s talk about this cover! It is something totally different than the rest of the books. The main books all have plain backgrounds and a picture of the mockingjay, so this cover was a big surprise! The green and black on the cover reminds me of a villain on a TV show like I’m going to be hypnotized! We also have a mocking jay, sitting on a branch, with a snake. I don’t even know what to think about this. Is the main charterer going to be sneaky? Is it to say there was a worse president than snow? SO MANY QUESTIONS!

There are so many things I want in this book, one of them being I want it to feel like the rest of the books. I don’t want it to feel non-related to the world we know. I know there are going to be differences due to it being 64 years before the story we know, but I don’t want to be completely different. I also want this book to go into more depth about what District 12 is like. We saw a glimpse of what it was like, but that was after the coal mine explosion. Was it different before? Also, there is so much time between the books how much has District 12 progressed?

I need this book now. I can’t wait until May. There are so many questions! Will there be a prequel movie? Will we ever get Haymitch’s story?? Or Effie’s Story?? Can we get a book about what happened to Gale after Mockingjay?? Susan Collins, please help me!
